LITTLE LEARNRZ CHILDCARE
A close friend gave me the exciting task of creating a unique identity for a childcare center. Her vision emphasizes diversity, reflecting Oakland's community, and creating unforgettable experiences for children. This dream grew from her time as a foster parent, where she witnessed many disadvantaged children missing out on enriching activities due to financial barriers or neglect.
With this vision in mind, I researched nearby childcare centers on Yelp and explored Pinterest for inspiration on font styles, layout design, and cartoon artwork. I wanted to feature a diverse group of children riding a train, capturing my client’s mission to create joyful, memorable experiences for disadvantaged kids. To bring this to life, I used ChatGPT to generate prompts for Adobe Firefly. Once I had an image I liked, I refined it further in Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, building out the design around the train as the focal point.
For the flyer, I aimed to present the childcare information in a unique way. My initial idea was to use a train schedule layout, but it overwhelmed the design, so I opted for a simpler approach by creating a ticket stub. To highlight the call-to-action phone number, I styled it as a railroad stop sign, using bright red to capture the reader’s attention. For the banner, I kept the information minimal, displaying only the essential details that could be easily read from a distance. For the social media post, I repurposed much of the flyer content, making slight adjustments to fit social media dimensions.
